Workshop: Hand-building Ceramics 1/11 & 1/18, 5pm: Hand-building Platters & Bowls

Spend two creative days designing and building your own ceramic platters and bowls. Learn hand-building basics—slabs, coils, shaping forms with clean rims and balanced proportions—along with texture tools, carving, stamps, and other surface treatments to bring personality to each piece. Create serving platters for gatherings, everyday bowls for your table, or sculptural statement pieces, all at your own pace.

The second day focuses on finishing techniques: glazing, surface design, underglaze painting, and color choices that complement your forms. Explore how different finishes interact with texture and shape so each piece feels intentional and uniquely yours.

Ideal for total beginners and returning makers. All materials and firing included—just show up, get your hands in the clay, and enjoy the process. Leave with finished platters and bowls you’ll be proud to use or gift, and new skills to continue your clay journey.
